Product Overview >
Vortex flowmeter is a new type flowmeter with international advanced level based on Karman vortex principle, which is suitable for measuring superheated steam, saturated steam, general gas and liquid. Widely used in petroleum, chemical, electric power, light industry, power heating and other industries.

The Vortex flowmeter is composed of a Vortex generator, a detection probe and a corresponding electronic circuit. When fluid flows through a Vortex generator, two alternating rows of Vortices are formed on both sides of the Vortex, which are called Karman Vortices. Based on the Karman Vortex Street theory, Strohal proposed that the frequency of Karman Vortex Street is proportional to the Velocity of the fluid.

The relationship between frequency and Velocity is giVen: f: Vortex frequency (Hz) V: aVerage Velocity on both sides of the Vortex generator (m / s) St: Strohal coefficient (conStant in a certain Reynolds number) d: Vortex generator surface width (m) These alternating Vortices form a series of alternating fluid lift, which acts on the detection probe based on piezoelectric effect, and produces a series of alternating charge signals which are conVerted, shaped and amplified by a preamplifier.
